Opening Edge Length

Opening edge length is the perimeter of the opening measured in linear feet (LF).It is not replacing opening area, but currently, opening area cannot be represented or included in a component, only in the root wall.
This is different from how it worked in v16, but I’ve added it to the feature update list right away, since including opening area in components is important for estimating.
As a workaround for now, please create an assembly on the root wall that subtracts the opening area for plywood/sheathing.

Exterior wall area and interior wall area are only available on the root wall, not within wall components. Components must use Area only.
The ability to include opening area directly in wall components has been added to the wish list to be restored, as we understand how important this is for accurate estimating.
We’ve tested this on our end and agree the current workflow requires handling these calculations at the root wall level for now. Are you wanting it to calculate the components in a different way?
