Missing lines/dimensions in added Model View window

    Is there a filter/setting that I’m missing somewhere? Don’t see my Layout created lines or dimensions when in a window created with Add Model View; default is fine.

    Notation is specific to a particular model view.
    This allows users to display specific data on a site plan at 1:2500 (say) that they won’t want to display on the 1:200 site plan

    The Notation filter is completely blank, so…?  I knew that filters and scene stuff are unique per window, but there’s no Dimensions, Drafting or Imported Drafting to select.

    What are you trying to achieve by adding a model view?

    2D in one window, 3D in the other for tweaking.

    But Notations don’t display in 3D.

    Of Course not. You asked why I was adding a model view. 🙂
    .
    Just didn’t expect that the 2nd window would be so limited when in 2D mode.

    Hi Diane,
    I don’t consider this a limitation. Everything I need is in the original Model View 2D mode.
    What the 2nd Model View allows me to do in 2D is to ADD new dimensions and text that I want to be different than the original. 
    My construction documents for builders use requires a completely different set of dimensions than those I want to send to customer for presentation. The 2nd Model View 2D allows me to generate that. 
    But the 2nd 2D view allows me to change the base plan including walls, windows , door , appliances etc and update both views.
    I don’t want the 2D 2nd view options to change.
    By the way, to print the 2nd 2D plan view you just have to ‘close’ the original Model View and in Sheet view the 2nd Model View is active.

    Interesting usage, Jack.  So the software is treating dimensions just like 3D scene bg as model view specific.  Do the lack of filter for dim, trace, etc not affect you or do they appear in your version, maybe appearing as you add those elements?  If you close the additional view window, then all of those mods would be lost?

    View Manager.
    rt-click on any of the tabbed Views along the bottom of your drawing area – View Manager – click the appropriate checkbox to reactivate your original (Default) model view

    Thanks.  Found that out by fire before your post – accidently close my default window. 🙂
    .
    Guess I was expecting just another view of same stuff like Excel.  So looks like my “limitation” may actually be an Asset to others.  Actually, think it’s really cool once you know the “rules”.
